Britney Spears has officially finalised her divorce from ex-husband Sam Asghari.

Speaking toPeople,sources confirmed that the couple have reportedly concluded their divorce proceedings, stating, “The divorce was amicable and the prenup[tial agreement] was not challenged.”

The source also responded to speculation that Britney was providing financial support to her ex-husband to uphold his living expenses, sharing, “The report that she is in financial distress is false and she is not on any lease for him.”

“Britney is continuing to flex her freedom and is moving on.”

News of the couple’s divorce proceedings comes nine months after the 41-year-old singer took to social media to confirm her split from Sam.

“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together. 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked, but I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business,” Britney wrote toInstagram.

Sam also confirmed the couple’s split, writing,“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
